How it all started...
In June of 1966, a fraction of the members of Second Trinity Baptist Church began meeting in the home of Rev. Aaron Bland. Upon meeting it was decided to stay together as a Church. April of 1968, at which time the first service was conducted at 2815 Woodburn Avenue in the unanimously agreed name of Tryed Stone Missionary Baptist Church. A pulpit committee consisting of: Deacon Alfred Williams and Bro. Jesse Jones, contacted Rev. Anderson Culbreath to fill the pulpit as Pastor. Rev. Culbreath accepted and served from the first Sunday in July through September, as acting Pastor, he was ordained and then elected to be the Pastor of Tryed Stone Missionary Baptist Church in October of 1969. In 1979, We had outgrown the building on 2815 Woodburn Ave., and God in His infinite wisdom saw fit to bless us with the facility at 5015 Reading Road. When we purchased this facility at 5015 Reading Road, we vowed that with God’s help we would payoff the Mortgage in seven years from the day we marched in. Surely the Lord is with us for He enabled us to payoff the Mortgage in seven years and seven days. In 1983, The Lord blessed TSMBC with recorded breaking membership of 1015. The numbers continued to grow until a larger facility was needed. We had our “Ground Breaking Ceremony” at our new site at 5550 Reading Road on September 22, 1990 for our new Worship Sanctuary and Christian Education Center and Day Care Facility. IN 2001 Elder Arnold Culbreath was installed as Senior Pastor. Elder Jerry Culbreth was sent to New Beginning Christian Fellowship to serve as interim pastor by Overseer Anderson Culbreath n 2002 Elder James Bready was installed as Assistant pastor. Elder Rodney Jones was hired as full time youth pastor. Elder Jerry Culbreth was ordained as pastor of New Beginning Christian Fellowship by elders of Tryed Stone In 2004 Pastor Arnold Culbreath resigned as pastor of Tryed Stone Missionary Baptist. Elder James Bready was selected as interim pastor. In 2005, Dr. Anderson Culbreath passed away. Pastor Jerry Culbreth of New Beginning Christan Fellowship was asked by the Elders of Tryed Stone to come and pastor. In 2006, In a sovereign move of God, Tryed Stone and New Beginning merged as one joint congregation. Approximately 150 New Beginning members came with Pastor Jerry Culbreth. The name of church was changed to Tryed Stone New Beginning Church.

Where we are headed...
Our goal is to continue to be a kingdom minded, healthy fellowship of believers committed to: bringing people to Jesus (evangelism), restoring them to wholeness (fellowship), building their relationship with Christ (discipleship), and equipping them for service (ministry), in order to magnify God (worship) and establish His Kingdom in the earth.
